I will also appreciate advice in what to do with:

1) both fuel tanks are already been drained and ready to be removed. Installing 100/150 plastic gallons tanks?

2) teak decks are already been removed what can I install to still the deck?

3) windows wood channels are rotted away any recommendation in replacing those with other materials?

4) we know this boat will need thousands of dollars. Which Insurance companies insure this type of old vessels (full coverage)?

Thanks again
GB42’s are great boats - but this is not one of them! Run away from this one. Please!

Re: Grand Banks 42 with John Deere 404

It may be advantageous to have the boat surveyed. Develop a list of items to be replaced/repaired and the remedial actions to correct the faults which will be in accordance with ABYC. Discuss this with your insurance underwriters to be certain they will accept the remedial actions taken and satisfy the final survey. There’s no sense undertaking repairs which will not be acceptable to the underwriters and thus disqualify you from obtaining insurance.
