Converting Knots and GPH to MPG?

Anyone have an easy formula or plug in tool?

8 knots at 3GPH = xmpg

If 8 knots is your speed, then 8 x 1.15= 9.20mph

9.20 miles divide by 3 = 3.7 mpg

Correct except your final number should be 3.07 mpg

mpg = 1.15 x knots / GPH

If you're working in knots to start with, why convert to statute miles? Why not just stay with nautical miles?
