I've made the trip many times with a 49 foot
trawler cruising at about 8 1/2 knots. We usually go CC to Marco Island on the first day, Marco to KW on the second day. The time and fuel burn on your
boat will depend very much on the
weather, i.e., whether you can run on plane or not. Total distance from CC to KW is about 130 nautical miles so divide by speed to get hours. Multiply hours by your fuel burn rate (probably about 15 to 20 gph) and you get the total consumption. CC to Marco is about 50 nautical miles, Marco to KW about 80 NM. To run straight thru from CC to KW you'll need relatively flat
water, 6 or 7 hours time, and something like 150 gallons of fuel tankage. If you are slowed down by heavy seas, your fuel consumption will typically increase quite a bit and require a stop over in Marco, Naples or Everglades City.
