Bayliner question

Does anyone know if these boats will be strong enough to handle comfortably cruising the Salish sea ? I’ve heard that they are great boats but not the most stable or strong to handle waves if happen.

1983 3818
1987 Bayliner 3870/3888

Thank you so much

Re: Bayliner question

No problem with standard precautions about weather conditions. These boats are getting a bit old finding one in good shape can challenging, but a solid boat well suited to inland cruising. Nice space and layout. Wide beam makes it pretty stable. Windows can leak a bit.

Good luck.

Re: Bayliner question

Well you see various Bayliner 38s all over the Salish Sea so I am going with yes Popular boat.

I did some of my initial training on a Bayliner 38 and the only thing the instructor said negatively about them was that they suffered from a bit of an overdose of thruhulls.
