Bahamas year round and go out in
boats on a very regular basis. Lots of
fishing,
diving, and tourist related activities require the
boats to be on the
water. When a hurricane hits there are places those boats are stored. Also lots of cruisers who are in the Bahamas year round. If you pick up a cruising guide you can find blurbs about where boats can be anchored if a storm hits. Being in the area you may also be able to talk to the locals and get additional information.

Not saying it is a good idea to go cruising in areas where hurricanes may hit, just that lots of folks with boats live in those areas year round.
