Where I lived we called them Cyclones (Queensland Australia) I was caught in one a couple of times riding my
motor bike I survived OK. The biggest problem wasn't the
wind it was the visibility through the visor or lack there of due to the rain and I had to stop until they eased off enough to carry on. That did take a while though. I was of course soaked to the skin even through my waterproofs and leathers. I did know it was coming and was sort of prepared but it also terrified me (the wind). Riding a bike in a cyclone (hurricane) is a really bad idea. You can get dead doing that. Things that can kill you start flying about. But then I am a Biker and clearly insane.
