Alternatives to Krogen Express?

I've concluded that a Krogen Express coastal cruiser is the best fit for my desires: Great Loop capable, low 4' draft for exploring my native Florida and docking behind my house on the St Johns River, two roomy staterooms with two head/showers, seaworthy to the extent of sailing the Caribbean and Gulf, and (non-negotiable) a stand-up engine room. However, I solicit any suggestions for comparable boats that I should consider before I make the leap.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Bob Breum

Re: Alternatives to Krogen Express?

Hi Bob,
Nordhavn is waiting for a first time purchaser of its N52 Coastal Pilot. It appears to be a direct comparable. Worthy of a look.....
Cheers,
Bill

Bill, I don't think a new boat is in my price range. I'm looking to spend $500K give or take a 100K. I aspire to a Nordhavn one day, but I want to get my feet wet exploring the east coast and the islands first.

Hi Bob,
There are so many power boats out there. Have you searched through yachtworld.com? You can search East coast only (if you wish), and limit other parameters such as pricing and age of boat (use the advance search features).
Cheers,
Bill

Bill, that's why I'm here. There is no option to specify draft or stand-up engine room (the keyword search really doesn't work well for that).

Hi Bob,
I hope you get more (and better) replies than mine. One last suggestion: Grand Banks Eastbay..... I'm not sure about the engine room height. Good luck in your search.
Cheers,
Bill

Interesting request, the Krogen Express has a distinctive look to it which I really like. I'll give it a shot but the Krogen Express is hard to beat in the looks department.

Looks wise I think the Fleming is the only one of my picks which come close in the looks department, that said I would love to own anyone of my picks. I left out custom boats.
