Advice on chartering for four months - Leopard 51 or Aquila 48

We are looking to charter a boat for the entire fall, September 1 - January 1.

We'd like to be in Florida waters, with some time in the Bahamas.

We need four staterooms because we have 3 kids including two teenage girls.

Our ideal boat is the Leopard 51 powercat or the Aquila 48 powercat. Neither The Moorings nor MarineMax are setup to do charters for extended periods and we'd like to homeschool our kids for the fall semester.

Does any know any owners of these boats that might want to "lease" to us? We'd be happy to pay as much as $75,000 for four months of use, and of course we'd pay for all the legalwork and insurance and expenses.

Many thanks!

The first question you will be asked is - what is your experience from the owner and the insurance company.

Agreed. That will be the first question and fortunately I have a compelling resume.

Question for you: Is this the right forum for me to look for somebody that might charter their boat for four months? Any advice to me? I'm sure that I can make it financially compelling and risk-free for the owner.

Not sure if this would be a fit but I’m a member of this group where people post regularly looking to buy or sell owner time. If this email doesn’t work charterboatowners@groups.io Then try the group moderator at: charterboatowners+owner@groups.io

Good luck— sounds like a great way to spend the autumn!

PS: how do you plan to handle TS/hurricanes?

We bought an Aquila 48 and we’ve cruised her for two years. It was the right boat for us.
