I agree that a lot of these laws are BS. I also tend to think these days that a lot of what's going on with the environment is natural...although we may have given it a little kick. I've also been know to discharge overboard myself.

But some of these recent posts lend me to think most boaters never actually step foot in the water.

First of all, there aren't any crabs in Mexico, at least where we cruised.

Second, there weren't any pumpout stations when we cruised there in the '90's.
Most people dscharged directly. In a crowded anchorage, we used the tank during the day when people might be in the water (and yes, we swam too).

Third, getting a pix of a pufferfish in Mexico is like trying to get a picture of a wave in the ocean. Why are you under MY boat? There's probably one under yours as well.

Ok - This thread took a real turn for the worse.

I am closing the thread until we sort out the guilty and the innocent and clean up some of the personal attacks.

Maybe a timeout will let some of us cool off.
