Six Hundred Passengers Stuck on Showboat Run Aground in Missouri

BRANSON, Mo. -- More than 600 passengers and crew were expected to be stuck on a showboat overnight after high winds caused the vessel to run aground Saturday on a Missouri lake, officials said.
The Branson Belle ran aground at Poverty Point on Table Rock Lake.

Oh, the irony of spending $75 on a ticket for a two hour cruise and running aground at Poverty Point.

a bit related to that story, I knew someone that worked at a jet boat tourist attraction and they told me that one day a captain had a full boat (57 people give or take) and accidently drove the boat over some rocks due to drop in water levels, putting a hole in the bottom of the boat while in the rapids. nobody was hurt as these boats are designed to withstand such damage and still be able to float and drive back to the docks, but i bet the passengers were all thinking "why did i sign that waiver" when it happened
