Re: Secret Pleasures Aboard Your Boat
The warmth and cosiness of a beautiful cabin on a miserable night....If it wasn't for just such a night 30 years ago our twin boys would not have been conceived!
There's nothing, simply nothing like messing in boats........

G'day, Sailor G, Yup, Twin Island Bay, Great Barrier Island. Despite being only 55 miles from Auckland, you can get fortunate once in awhile and have it all to yourself!! Cheers.

I am glad I did not have any food or drink in my mouth while reading that line.

You had me confused for a moment there matauwhi. I know that bay as Kiwiriki. It's a nice wee spot.

G'day, Knowazark. Spot on, Kiwiriki is the official name on the chart. The Royal Akarana Yacht Club Coast Cruising Handbook also refers to it as 2 Island Bay. Cheers.

We might well be anchored there around Easter. Haven't decided whether to take 4 days off before or after Easter to make a 10 day break. Depending on the weather we could be out at the Barrier or up to the Bay. Whangaroa is just a stunning spot.
Ah ... decisions, decisions.

We have a portable ice maker. Many days a tall cool glass of iced tea is impossible to beat. I go all the way. Irish Breakfast tea with fresh squeezed lemon and sugar. Goes down really really nice on a hot day.

Ice is a mighty valuable tradeable commodity. I have been able to trade a bag of ice for a warm six pack or two pounds of hamburger.

not bad but the Darwin God comment sounds conflicted, I dont think God cared much about Charles confusion, his followers are still hoping there might be some evidence some eternity........

I think my favorite and maybe not so secret pleasure is having other people (cruisers/ live-aboards) on our boat. It's always a great time!! We all have so much in common, that friendships form easily and fast. We are still in touch with some of he people we cruised with 3-4 years ago.
