Re: RANT: The " Danger " of Sailing

I think they got it all wrong. Sailing is not an adventure that is dangerous to life. Sailing is life. Not sailing (or having any adventure) is dangerous to my life.
I have spent most of my adult life working in hospitals. You can go there and live- I choose the sea. The danger is only a small impurity in the massive nourishment it gives me. I am afraid I would sail even if it was extremely dangerous, because sailing is nothing about danger. It is about feeding my soul.

sailing is statistically safter than driving, crossing the road... i wonder if it's statistically safter than flying or not

No sailing is slightly more dangerous than flying on a regularly scheduled airline. But it is safer than riding your bicycle

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"
