I'm Back

Hi all,
Just a quick note, as I'm pretty tired, I've just spent a month fixing my new boat while also going through a mound of red tape, two crews and getting from the Florida Keys to Cape Lookout - so far. I've got so many things to confess to, I don't know where to begin, West Marine love me. Here's one just to comply - I ripped the HF aerial off another boat with my radar mast docking in Charleston. We were all so busy screaming and being horrified, I then crashed into the dock. Anyone else notice that those college kid slackers that seem to be endemic in marinas posing as dock hands never really do anything to help?

I hope to be back online and throwing in the odd acerbic comment soon.

cheers
James

Good to see you back here, James! We were wondering how things were going. Sounds like you've had some interesting "learning experiences" (as have we all!). Rule No. 1: never trust a dockhand. Ha!

Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures!

My problem with dock hands is that they usually "help" to much. I love it when they grab my bowline and tie it off short before I can get the boat in reverse or get any other lines to the dock. Then they stand there shaking their head at you as your stern crashes into the boat in the next slip.

Good to see you back again.

The West Marine comment followed by the HF aerial got a chuckle followed by an "Ohhhh!! " whe I read about the crash.

Glad you're safe.
