C'mon now Don! Self-deprecation is so unattractive on you. Seems as though you're seeking approval, acceptance, respect and positive affirmation? From us of all people?!!! Bwahhh ha ha ha!!!! You must have gone mad as well.
We know you don't care about impressing anyone! You own a Hunter!

When I bought a boat to live on I only wanted three things. That's not too demanding, is it?

I wanted the boat to have good living space.

I wanted the boat to go fast.

I wanted sexy lines on the water.

As the song says, two out of three ain't bad! I know someone who has the same Hunter I do (not Cherubini) who won PHRF west central Boat of the Year. She's fast. If she doesn't go fast it's operator error. That's a real challenge.

The space is terrific for a sailboat of its size.

And, as someone else said here recently, it looks like a squat duck on the water. Netting in the cockpit only accentuates the overall impression of a pointy shoebox.

And, she doesn't leak, so people can insult Hunters all they want, but no leaks is a wonderful trait in a boat you live on.

there is nothing sexy about catahuntebenelinas, sorry...if you want sexy lines on water, find an old tallship...rodlmao.

there is also nothing sexy about whining nor trolling....that we know as fact from day one.

good thing everyone has different tastes and that there are so many different styles of boats...lol..even those meant and built for the money-less individual, production boats...rodlmao....

Exactly my point. I didn't exactly get everything I wanted.

What's humorous about having a production boat, that others should laugh at it? I'm curious. Most of the people I know have a production boat.

There's a really nice younger (well, younger than me, not much of a measure) couple in this marina on a really gorgeous Hans Christian -- are there any that aren't?

If I had that kind of money, I would be looking at them. I'll let everyone know when I win the lottery. Meanwhile it seems that my production boat came off the line very well. She's fast and watertight, and I think the second is significant for a boat built in 1983.

Also really important given the summer we've had so far ...

Re: I'm an Idiot and Lair

hans christian are built in taiwan as are formosa and other non production boats. they do not use an ass-embly line, as do catahuntebenelinas. they are individually made with each boat slightly different than the rest, not in any way shape nor form production boats which are all same.
check your country of manufacture before you compare oranges with mangoes....

Oh I forgot to mention another thing I like about my boat.

It points extremely well.

Learn to read before you attack. I never said Hans Christians are production boats, nor did I say they were built in the USA. I said I'd buy one if I won the lottery. I WAS comparing oranged with mangoes. They're very different from Hunters.

They're gorgeous boats, great space below and low lines above, extremely well built, sail well, and look fabulous on the water. They have everything I wanted, whereas you aparently spent a bundle (guessing from your slams about mone) on a boat that doesn't point well.

As you said, something for everyone.

Re: I'm an Idiot and Lair

We all have vessels that are compromises,- money, performance, space, appearance, quality, ...... nobody has it all. If we are doing well, we are proud of what we have. This is not a place to speak poorly of others or their boats.
