Fabulous Trip in PNW

Hello All,

Just got back from an excellent 8 days on the boat. All the work last winter paid off. Nothing broke and the sailing was great. We even had a little adventure on the way home with 30 knot winds and heavy tidal flow in Rosario Strait. Got a chance to see what Idora could do and got the decks washed in the process. Only saw a dock once to water up.

The crew was happy the entire time and the weather was beautiful. Surprisingly there were few boats in most of the anchorages and it made me feel like I was a kid again seeing it for the fIrst time.

Just a little rest and a little time back at work and we will do it again in August. WoooHooo!

Sounds like a great trip. I was up in Desolation Sound in late June. I've never seen so few boats. Had a popular anchorage all to ourselves.

I'm jealous of your August plan - wish I could get away that often!

Nice! Had a good trip from PT to Bambridge (first day...) nice wind and sun!... alas rain and no wind followed in the next 2 days....

Funny as I don't think it's rained since and the wind has been great..... well at least it's blowing through the trees a lot! Hopefully I'll get out again before the summer doldrums arrive.

I find that the PNW is fantastic for sailing, and maybe with this GW thing... eventually it will be similar to the south seas w/x wise.... One can only dream.. right?

I love seeing all the sails out on the sound. Just makes me smile that so many enjoy the pure bliss that is the sailboat!

Cheers
