COVID vaccinations while Cruising
Well, we are getting set for departure this summer. Leaving from Denmark to where the wind and COVID decides.. Not sure which one is the determinant at the moment. Anyway, Canaries and Caribe then lets see. For those out there, what is the situation with getting vaccinated in the islands/lands you have travelled to. I am sure each is different but it would be nice for all of us to get an idea what we are potentially facing. I also recognise this is a moving target but lets see what the status is...

Re: COVID vaccinations while Cruising
Haven’t you already [or will be by summer] been vaccinated?
On November 12, the corona passport was introduced in Denmark for people aged 15 years and over. If you have been vaccinated, if you have been infected within the past six months, or if you have tested negative for COVID-19, you can get a corona passport.

Many, are vaxed and boostered, but if you are traveling long-term without planning to fly home for 9 months or longer the situation of getting another booster might become important.
I have, for example, received my booster in October.
So the next date for vaccination is probably in 9months = Summer 2022. I will be hopefully in Spain by than and have no intention to fly home just for the next booster. So the option to get a vaccination shot abroad is a relevant subject.

Re: COVID vaccinations while Cruising
Yupp, I am vaccinated and have a Corona passport. I guess I was not clear enough.. Anyway, here in Denmark we at the moment get a booster every 6 months. I get my booster tomorrow which means I have then been vaccinated 3 times. The issue is when we are out in say Martinique 6 months after our last booster. (next booster in June) In December 22 I will need another booster.. So can we get a vaccination there or do we have to fly back to DK. Same issue for all of us as we cruise I guess..
Thanks in Advance
MIke

Martinique is quite easy, biggest difficulty will be if you dont speak french. They are happy to vaccinate anyone who wants one. First time, they wanted an appointment, after that just show up with your papers in hand. It's at the hospital in Le Marin with easy access . They gave me the papers for the vaccine, another with a qr code and also stamped my yellow vaccine record book.

Nice!!!! THANKS!!! I am a Canuck and can fudge a bit of French..so maybe.. I was in Le Marin in 2013, arrived there from the Cape Verdes.. Great place to provision among other things..
Anyway more information like this will probably encourage others to get out there...
Gord May.. I spent a lot of time in TB way back when... planted a lot of trees in the area when I was 16. Did a lot of canoeing as well. Damn that lake is cold!!!

To get a covid shot in Spain you must be a resident. Perhaps if you went to a Doctor and pain for it, you might get one.

Re: COVID vaccinations while Cruising
Grenada is also offering free vaccines for anyone there. They provide an electronic vaccination card with qr code. (Although the sometimes the online system needs a phonecall nudge to help it along)
I think St Vincent is also offering vaccines as well as other Caribbean islands.
I'm not certain quite how it works getting the paper work straight when adding boosters to vaccines received elsewhere. Not had to jump through that hoop yet.

Let's hope that changes or we can get another boost before leaving in spring.
I'd be happy to pay for it if it saves us a flight back home.
Thanks.
