A Good Day Out 'There' . . .

But running out of gas on sailboat? Lol...took our girls out for their first sail, and unfortunately only the third outing on the boat, so, we ran up the James River from the JRB about four or five miles amd dropped the hook..wind built up pretty good, but we sat on the hook for dinner, and began the beat back to the marina...long about sundown, I got bored with tacking and fired up the iron wind...headed towards the draw span...and ran out of gas just as we got to the bloody bridge, with the wind right biggie..whipped out the can and refueled the little does not seem to like to restart I messed with it for a bit, and decided to hoist the main and get some way on...and about three miles out, I see the dreaded red, green, and whit triangle...ah crap..doing about twelve knots too..fortunalely, the one lung finally fired up, and I scooted out of his way...circled, followed him under the bridge, and headed for the least I did not hit the pier...
Lesson learned...need bigger fuel tanks....
