Yacht in trouble

The crew of the yacht "V5" are currently in the process of being rescued off the west coast of the North Island, just south of 90mile beach. The yacht hit something very solid in the night seriously damaging it's keel. The crew are currently on deck wearing life jackets and have inflated the life raft in case the keel lets go and the boat capsizes.
The yacht is part of the fleet in the "round the North Island race".
