It's darned hard to stay on an even keel when you're down flooding, possibly breached across compartments, etc. There's nothing funny about collisions and trying to stay afloat at sea folks. It's a horrifying experience, trust me.

I wonder how many containers lie at the bottom of the ocean? I'm sure many have fallen off in rough seas or other similiar incidents.

I'm sure we'll find out more from the official inquiry in due time.
From what I've read so far, the authorities seem to be keeping remarkably calm, and the harbour crews appear to be executing a textbook operation to get things cleaned up.

Yeah, seem to be dealing with it well
But can't be any oil spilled as otherwise the Indian President would be on TV 24/7 whining like a girl whilst pointing a finger at old whitey...........
