The Dolphins that jumped and 'twirled" might have been spinners.

Thank you for the wikipedia source. I have already read it. I will see if one of the crew still has pictures and try to post them.

pirate Re: Whale incident in Cabo

I've encountered pods and individuals of various breeds of whales, they've swam with me down the W coast of Oz, surfaced within 20metres and swim alongside in the Azores, play and surf around me in Biscay gales and had Orca join me for days mid Atlantic.. dolphins are everywhere..
That's what pulls me back out into the Ocean again and again.. the hope of repeating my first transat experiences.

Re: Whale incident in Cabo

It sure makes a person glad to see that whales are not aggressive but playful and curious. I would not want to play leapfrog with a friendly whale. However, I have almost been tossed over an 8 ft. fence by a playful bull and knocked on my a-s by a friendly horse.

... will probably be something like, "Well, next time stay home, ya little wimp.."

But, we all know that is B's macho Aussie talk, and his heart is in the right place. : )

Best to all,
