UK or France Third Party Insurance

Are there any European forum members who can give me an idea of 3rd party insurance cost for 43ft cruiser and/or the names of any brokers or agents who would give a quote. A well heeled friend said his broker would fall about laughing at the thought of writing a 3rd party policy for such a small boat (don't think I'll bother with him!)

Hi all, this is my first post in the forum, so I'm newbie although I post as often as I hope I am useful in ybw.com . PaNTAENIUS seems a safe enough area to begin as they insure my Dufour 36 presently in Malta! YBW members have been queried by Pantaenius about such posts as "bent Mast" having been identified by the amount of information they gave to ybw.com. So, the walls have ears. Most of us do not radically modify anything, unless we built it ourselves! It perhaps would be best to have regard to underwriters interest in what goes on in these forae (? fora) and to adopt a name like "entwhistle the 19th" as a boat name and and address in mid-atlantic.The majority will fear for their skins if in offshore yachts and maintain their vessels in exemplary fashion. Where we fail often is in advising insurance companies of the value of cruising kit on board or on liveaboard vessels. This springs, IMHO from the realisation that the projected premia may exceed the allowable budget.I was totally surprised to find that our posts are monitored by our insurers, and whilst one cannot fault them for looking after their risk, the fact that they may subsequently use information gleaned here or on other discussion sites, leaves one feeling exposed.

So, in hindsight, however matey one likes to get with ones' felow boaters, it looks like I'll be adopting a cloak and dagger primary ident in future, with the PM being the only way to establish the true rappport that one seeks with the fellow boater.

sorry , for that , i know their lost and miss ( i am French myself) but live in Australia for 25 years and a pride Aussie now .

Cathyoz, I'm english and have lived in France for 5 years and this year I was elected as "Conseilleur" of our local commune, a great and surprising honour. I have yet to meet any anti British French - or maybe I've just been lucky.
Anyway thanks for the info I have now found "Hisse et oh".
