I wonder why they left into that? Even in Toronto I can see the weather's rough at the moment from the satellite and isobar stuff on the national forecast.
Canadian search and rescue are heroes indeed, but these guys never should have left the wharf in that weather. I am a commercial fisherman and just happen to be fishing in that area. We go out in all kinds of weather but we stayed in for that one. It had been for-casted for days.

We read of this kind of incident several times a year.
I am all for personal freedom and I have no problems with these people attempting stupid crossings but they should leave their radios and EPIRBS at home so that they do not risk the lives of rescue personnel.
The forum would do everyone a service if they catalogued all these incidents when stupid people try and cross the Atlantic in hurricane season or winter.
