Re: Three Dead After Boat Capsizes off Batemans Bay

From the Sydney Morning Herald:

Police have suspended their search for a man who disappeared when a boat capsized off the NSW south coast, killing three people and injuring one other.
The 47-year-old was one of five people on board the five-metre Shark Cat when it capsized off Maloneys Beach near Batemans Bay just before 2pm (AEST).
A man and a woman, believed to be in their 70s, and a girl, believed to be aged 12, were pulled from the water but could not be revived.

Regards
GW

SharkCats are small(er) open power boats.

Heres one that was for sale Marine Auctions - Australia, Brisbane

The Volunteer coastguard (we don't have a big one like the US, all volunteers here) has used and probably still use them in some areas as rescue boats as they are incredibly capable rough water boats.

Looked more like a Markham Whaler in the news report. Pretty sure I even seen a "Whaler" logo on the rear. Totally different boat to a Shark Cat vis seaworthiness
