The only boat I ever saw with a chain on it had an anchor attached to the other end. I saw an airplane once that had a chain wrapped around the prop. I always thought a good pair of bolt cutters would make short work of most chains.

Obama's coming up with a stimulus plan as we speak (post). I plan on using my check for buying a sailboat, or joining the local yacht club. Just doing my part!

Mmmm Chicken..........

Seriously though this is a rough time for a lot of people, and I honestly think the media is a major part of the problem (as this story proves, the media will do ANYTHING to sensationalize a story and bring out the worst in it). I think this crisis is 50% greed, 40% media caused panic and 10% Government blunder.

You won't get a check, I hope not at least until the Porn Industry gets theirs

I hope in the end the not too many boats are sacrificed. At least without someone telling me where they are first

I saw a funny incident in Santa Cruz, Ca. where my friend had sublet a slip from a fisherman. The fisherman could not pay the slip rent to the harbor but was still collecting slip rent from my friend. My friend returned to his boat one day to find it chained to the dock. Funny thing was the dummies left their harbor keys still in the pad lock. There must have been 50 keys on a huge ring.
My friend unlocked the boat and took the chain, lock and keys to the harbor master who was probably very embarrassed. We suggested that the keys should not have been returned with the chain and lock but instead a "less dry place"..

Little Otter,

I have a free cat. It is black, good mouser, litter trained and sleeps all of the time.
Just don't tell my wife.

Tell the owner if he can legally get rid of anything he has chained up to contact me, I know a couple of people that are looking as long as he is not trying to get rich off someone elses misfortune.

I will speak to him. Right now the only one is the Carver 36. The Viking is a 40 foot not 38 he should have it by the end of the month.
