the "Vendée Globe" race...

there, in the new continent, you've heard of this around the world race named "vendée globe", starting from France?

We certainly have although it doesn't seem like very many of the NAs on this forum pay to much interest. Personally I think it is the greatest race going and follow it every four years. To bad there is only one woman in the race this year.

It makes the America's Cup race pale in comparison.

Guillemot brought his boat back the last week of the race after losing his keel to finish 3rd. That is an amazing act of seamanship IMHO. And this after going to the aid of the injured Elies. And the rest of the bunch are just as brave (crazy?).

I think if there was more English language content on the website more NAs would follow the race.

I think this is "cutting edge" with a lot of practical messages for cruising sailing.
These people are "gods" to Europe and France in particular, but are not well known outside these geographical areas.

indeed, many applications to recreational craft ...
but above all a remarkable human and sporting event!
