They made a movie didn't they? ; -D

We will be on an Alaska inner-passage with Celebrity, which I guess, given the alternatives, is a pretty good trip.

So I have noticed an interesting thing on this other cruisers forum; You all know how here we get crazy on the anchor, number of hulls and guns aboard threads?

On that forum they get crazy over- get this- formal wear on the formal dining nights, kids on the ship, and alcohol aboard...

And I am gonna really have to consider how badly I wanna maintain my supposed air of mystique... Them foulies (which are going along for the glacier trips) might CHAFE!!

Actually, the sites are awesome it's hard to get tired of the views. Taking the Alaska State Ferry is like a cruise. And after 25 years it's something I'll never forget. Even after living there for a year.

When and where did you live for a year? I was in Valdez '92~'94 after post clean-up from the Joe Hazelwood mishap. Did 850 miles on the Yukon in my dinghy and also on a weather window shot out through the Valdez Narrows and Colombia Glacier.

I spent the summer of 76 in Willow and wintered over in Anchorage in 86. I even collected a permanent fund once. But did travel about every road available (not restricted). In 87 I took the train thru the mountain between Portage and Whittier. Got on the ferry (on a rare sunny day) to Skagway and drove the rest of the way down to Seattle. Been here ever since. Awesome sights! You feel like you're the only one in the world, at times and able to see the horizon and curvature of the earth up there. Cordova was a blast. It poured rain for three days, non stop.

Did you ever get to Homer?
