There is plenty of good sailing in Moomintroll series. They are meant for the younger reader but I started reading them at 30 and I found them perfectly matched for my age too.

Have to 2nd Tristan jones as fun sea fiction.

Especially the end of "incredible voyage" where he and all these other celebrities are supposedly manhandling sea dart (his 17ft ocean going vessel) to fit in a freight elevator in the Waldorf in NYC for the explorers club banquet, then raised sails on stage to tell his story as the guest of honor LMAO!!!
the part where they're pulling Sea Dart down thru the jungle from Lake Titicaca trying to launch it in the Amazon to float out and are so hungry they're boiling a monkey and he describes the monkeys tail as having a hand and how it was creepy to him is gold as well!!!k

Read all his books in order then read the one by the guy disproving Triston...it includes published authors like the Pardeys whom instantly thought eccentric Tristan was beyond just "Ghey"

My buddy who circumnavigated met Triston during his years going round..said of him "couldn't stand the blow hard" when I brought up Tristan's name..

Novels along the lines of Patric Obrien tracing the adventures of Richard Bolitho a Royal Navy officer in the days of war under sail 1776 to early 1800's. Most of these are avaialble from my local library (Redands Australia) in electronic format free of charge.

During a visit to Miami Beach, I remembered "Crunch & Des- Classic Stories of Saltwater Fishing" which I had read as a child. Purchased ebook on Amazon and enjoyed greatly- about powerboats but capture their world and 50s Miami really well.

Finished a three part ebook by Christine Conaway called "Dangerous Shores" about a woman's voyage in a post apocalyptic world. It was grim, very culturally conservative but a vivid read of her voyage from Florida, through the Panama Canal, up the West Coast to Washington state on her Catalina 36.
