Missouri River To Close To Barge Traffic In Two Weeks Due To Drought

It is not just lakes that are low, rivers are feeling the drout. The Missouri river may close to barge traffic in two weeks. That is the main north south route for many items like oil, coal, and lots of things that keep our country going.

Anyone know a rain dance?

I just hang out the washing or wash the car, either of those usually sees it raining. Doing both on the same day might be risky....

Sounds like the Mississippi south of St. Louis is going to be to low for any barge traffic. The corp is lowering the flow on the last dam on the Missouri to 12,000 cfm in a couple of weeks. What I read was that it is projected to drop the Mississippi to -5 south of St. Louis the lowest recorded in history was -1. Need a lot of snow up north this winter.
