Nice assertion without citation for validation of fact.

La Charente-Maritime / Bahia - Transat 6.50 - Classements et Positions 2009 is the live tracking URL - which you left out, but everyone can see for themselves that all is normal.

Maybe they are all doing penalty 720's for rule infringement - need to be careful they don't get dizzy!

check the SIs

If you read the sailing instructions carefully, you'll see that the middle third of the course is to be sailed in reverse. (Which shouldn't be much harder than going to weather would be in one of those boats.)

Mapping fault?

They all seem to be going nicely.

Maybe the tide turned?

Tracking map

As you can see the tracking map is currently being settled. The problem comes from a mismatch of time reference (ndr, UTC and French time) between positions and vessel location on the map. We are currently working on the agreement of both information. Please forgive us.
Typical Froggies don't want to be reminded of UTC LOL

Oui! This is what happens when the sailing instructions are printed in French.
