Kiwi trying to change the world needs help

Hi Guy's/Gals. OK, firstly I have no affiliation with this, so it is only promotion because of two reasons. The guys a fellow Kiwi and the cause is a good one IMO.

He is trying to promote BioDiesel and is on an endevour to circumnavigate the world in this craft. Pretty cool by the way. All Kiwi. Anyway's, he thought he could gain some major sponsorship in the US, but so far no one has come to the party. The poor guy does't even have anywhere to stay. So he sleeps on the boat and the odd Kiwi has been offering a night or two with them. I guess the US is a little different than here.
Anyway, I am not suggesting hand outs, I am just hoping you could check the site so as his hit count can increase and maybe he can use it for trying to gain sponsorship.

Any forum members from the UK know any contact info for Richard Branson? He's putting a lot of money into this kind of thing.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- British billionaire Sir Richard Branson, chairman and founder of Virgin Atlantic Airways, Wednesday revealed a plan to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation industry by up to 25 percent by cutting airplanes' weight and reducing their fuel use on the ground.
"What we're suggesting would save over 150 million tons of carbon emissions a year," he said.
Branson said he has written letters to airlines and airport operators urging them to follow the plan, which has already been launched with Virgin Atlantic. Letters were sent from Branson to British Airways, American Airlines, EasyJet, Rolls Royce, Boeing, and British Airports Authority in the Britain calling for their support, he said.
Under the plan, airlines and airports would work together to decrease the amount of taxiing planes do on runways. Planes' engines would be shut off on the runway unless they are taking off or landing, he said, and tugs would pull airplanes to and from the runways. --From CNN's Katy Byron (Posted 3:51 p.m.)

Yeah only a Kiwi could come up with a design like that and only a Kiwi would take a design like that out in public...in daylight. For the sake of saving face for the rest of us Kiwi's, I hope it works.;-)

Scott, I haven't read his site yet. Does it go into the design of the boat, as in how they designed it to work? It is truely remarkable and has taken wave piercing to a whole new level. This one is truely a cross between boat and sub in many ways. I have some info buried around here on it, if the site has not explained it. Let me know.

Willie has fronted up with a big pile of the fuel for the trip. Damn nice of him I think.

Such a wierd boat but sort of sexy in a strange way and I don't say that about boats without masts often.

We chuck in the anchoring and docking gear for Pete. Gotta help people try to save us all even in a strange way like this.

Who's Willie??? Uh, Willie Nelson. Had a hit song back in the 50's I think....

Willie Nelson is a retired amateur golfer, social activist, long haired redneck and general "personality". He helped defined the '70s youth movement, primarily here in Texas but also in other parts of the country. His big focus over the last few years has been the dual causes of supporting family agriculture and clearing things up with the Internal Revenue Service. He sees biodeisel as a way to support farming and reduce US dependence on foreign energy at the same time and has put his money where his mouth is. He also wrote what is arguably the first Outlaw Country concept album Red Headed Stranger, worked with diverse singers like Ray Charles and Waylon Jennngs (The guy who didn't die with Ricky Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper). He has covered genres as diverse as raggae and crooner ballads. No Claude Debussy, but he has some interesting stuff just the same. Oh yea, and he did have a hit in the '50s.

We have a boat that looks simular to that, that cruises the Snohomish River here. But it's not enclosed so much and the sponsons are about half the length of the main hull.

If we could all get sponsers to go cruising that would be great......_/)

I grew up in the 50's. I probably had, (before second divorce), everything Willie recorded. Starting back around his "Hello Walls" ( which is one of my favorites). Have seen and heard him many times, starting with the "Brain Fry" concerts in Austin, where I went to school.

Here's what Willie Nelson looked like when I started listening to him. My dad played Willie, Jimmy Reed, and Bob Wills when I was a kid in Texas.

Oh, Willie Nelson!. Now I click. Yeah who hasn't heard of Willie Nelson. But I thought he would ahve been too busy producing his own "carbon polution" to worry about saving the world. Hmmmm, maybe he is trying to offset expenses with gaining Carbon credits.;-)
