water colour / depth changes (not C-Maps vs whaever)
variation / deviation (WOW! Who ever asked about that in the last 10 years?????, instead of marina charges and monthly cruising costs)

Whatever... The olderlies will kill you for it anyway....

Just go for it!!!!
Sergio works not far from me, i got him to do my last insurance survey.....

Good on her....Good on her mom....Good on the government for trying to stop it...
The youngest thing has been done frankly and I don't want to see any 12 year old sailors drowning because Daddy wants a reality show....

Just saying...

Re: Jessica Watson Movie Announced.

So which solo sailing "firsts" are there still to do?

Youngest, I guess could go lower but is morally reprehensible, as Paradise Parrot points out.

Oldest, definitely.

Various disabilities.

Smallest boat....I read about some guy trying the Atlantic in a 3ft boat, not sure if he made it, but the thing sure looking interesting.

Biggest boat...not sure how big the upper limit is for windpowered floating chequebooks.

Oldest boat...some capable old timber boats out there.

Material/rig...haven't heard of a pure kite-rig make it yet, or a boat made of recycled cardboard, give it time. Might make it into cheapest boat, too.

Re: Jessica Watson Movie Announced.

I do not care one whit whether or not she completed a "circumnavigation" or not, we will be going to see the film. She did something difficult, put in the hard work to make it happen and did it on her own. I have a 12 year old daughter and she is the reason we will go see it. I would much rather her admire and find inspiration in Jessica Watson who has actually done something than who the US media seems hell bent on getting my kid to admire- Snooki and the Kardashian train wrecks.

See the movie.....Throw out the TV.....turn off the Iphone.
Good for u.
My brother and I both grew up in a house with 1 tv channel that only came in good sometimes. Imagination works for entertainment and Reading is still being taught in school right?

I bet the "drama" before she went will probably get too much of the movie. Sailing is boring to most people.

Hope the celebrity doesn't destroy Jessica, now that she's done something. A very dangerous time for her.

Re: Jessica Watson Movie Announced.

If it's a sailing movie and has in some decent sailing, I'll watch it.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't video document the trip itself more. Gopros are cheap.
