Great Fueling Service in Intracostal City

We recently completed a trip between Tampa FL, and Freeport TX. During the trip our schedule forced us to fuel in Intracostal City on a Sunday.

Intracostal City is important to the cruisers as it is the only stop directly on the ICW between the Batavaria Waterway outside of New Orleans and Lake Charles (which is not directly on the ICW). The facilities at Intracostal City are also limited.

Shell Morgan operated by Tony Morgan is normally closed on Sundays and is the only place with gasoline. When we explained our situation to Tony, he gratiously agreed to meet us at the fuel dock on Sunday.

Unfortunately, we encounted a problem the previous night and were not able to reach the Shell Morgan fuel dock by the scheduled meeting time of 7AM. Even though we blew our original meeting time, Tony came out a second time at 100 PM when we arrived in Intracostal City. We were then able to continue on to Freeport that day.

I cannot say enough good things about Tony for enabling us to fuel outside of his normal operating hours. Although we were not able to take advantage of his docking facilities, Tony also maintains some transient slips with electricity.

Thanks again for the great service Tony.
