Hey did anybody hear what ended up happening to the sailing vessel Cha Cha? She was a 52'
steel hulled mono origionally from SA. Most herd of her from the story of her ill-fated trip to the
Bahamas in 2009 (she was disabled after a storm, and then a
collision occured while a good samaritan was attempting to tow her to St George's harbor).
Last I heard she had made it back to
Newport and was in
legal jeopardy with the HM, who was unable to locate the owner, Richard Littauer. All information that I can find ends at the beginning of last summer when Rich was still MIA and they were threatening to seize the
boat for
auction. All the comments ended by saying that they would not have let it sit there all through last summer season after so long of no response. (They were calling it abandoned, which sparked some debate)
Well those last comments were over a year ago now, with that summer and another
winter season past... So does anybody know if they found Rich, or if they eneded up seizing the
boat? Is the boat still there?
