Sadly, after a bout with cancer, Dodge Mogan passed away Tuesday September 14th. He was the first American to non-stop around the globe in 1986. He was one of my inspirational heros. Here is the article.

Dodge was well known to many here in Bermuda, with great affection and respect.
Shortly after leaving the US on the start of his circ/nav, American Promise suffered some gear failure and he stopped here for repairs. I don't think he went back to the US for a re-start. Local lore tells it that he started from here. A great loss to yachting.

His book is a great read. Yes he did restart from Bermuda, and finished his goal there also. His book was one of the first I read, and still have it........i2f
