Bombings in Thailand

sad news we have just left Hua Hin and it seems to be the worst affected , but other tourist hot spots have been hit over the last couple of days. We are at koh Samui which has had none yet but we will be avoiding crowed places. These are small devices designed to spread fear but there is a death toll and injured list.

Re: Bombings in Thailand

Thailand is my home and lets not forget that there have been daily killings in the south since about 2003 or 04. This one made the news as it is in a tourist area as was the one in BKK last year. Naturally the thai Police play it all down as the all important tourist dollar and face is of paramount importance

There are a lot of things going on right now, and I would not be overly concerned - or at least not yet

The good thing is that the Chinese tourists may be deterred but that is too much to hope for!!

I wouldn't worry. I just returned to Thailand phuket 2 weeks ago, life is normal. I've been sailing asia for 5 years, in my opinion its as safe as most other places. Bombs go of in France, brussels amongst other places. Bad stuff is happening in many countries but the reality is riding a motorbike here or driving a car at home is more likely to get you killed than these rare incidents.
