Re: Boat Crash

I saw that article too. Forget about the perils of the sea - homeport is the most dangerous place to be.

Re: Boat Crash

Or as the late danish actor, bookwriter and cruiser Erik Wedersøe wrote:
Land is the most dangerous thing for a boat

He also wrote "2/3 of our globe is water, the rest is just for docking"

In one of his books about an Atlantic crossing (west->east) with just one other crew member, he describes how one night he get down below to wake up his mate to take over, by knocking on the hatch, and get the reply "Who is it?"

Re: Boat Crash

At least it happened after their trip. Hurts a bit more when you're just getting out of refit with a brand new paint job: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...ital-1.1411702

Re: Boat Crash

I read a book about a couple that bicycled around the world. The husband was killed on the road after returning home to the US.
