Would you explain how images are posted? I am confused. I have tried to get images of my motor mounts to you, and would also like to post images regarding many of the other little issues I am having with my boat.

Sure Sonosailor.

There are two good ways to go.

1. If the image is online on a server somehere it has an address. In Windows: Right-click with the mouse > Properties > Copy the address to the clipboard
You simply click the IMG-button in the message editor at this board and paste the address into the message.

2. If the image is on your computer (not online) you can upload it to the Photo Gallery by clicking on "Upload Photos". You need to know where to find it on your computer. After this your image will be online and you can follow the procedure in point 1.

Gisle:
Thanks for the help. However, now that I have done it once, with the fatigued motor mount, I hesitate to do more. The Photo Gallery is quite enjoyable, and fills a need. But it seems better suited to display great scenery and "bragging rights", if you know what I mean. My intention is to use photos to better explain problems and to better solicit assistance from the Forum users. Are you sure your Photo Gallery is appropriate for worn motor mounts, broken motor controls, mast cracks, strange propane and fuel fittings, and the like? There is also the question of linking the photos to the appropriate email.

I can certainly provide great sunsets, decks full of bikinis (well I hope so) and the like as well.

Any advice?

Talking My advice

I can see you're doing well. Nice sunset.

I see your point on not mixing the paradise-shots with those of greasy engine parts, but nevertheless I would like to make the photo gallery a good companion to the discussion board - and we don't always wanna discuss the sunny side of yachting, do we?

So please upload all the images you like. Images may say more than a thousand words, so if you need to give or get advice on something, make a shot, upload it and start a discussion based on it.

... and please show us those deckloads of bikinis

Here's another way to link to images, you can make a link to the post in the gallery by pasting it's web page address here in the message. Use the http:/-button:

Link to a particular photopost in the photo gallery

or to show you the code:

http://cruisersforum.com/photopost/s...o.php?photo=58

pirate Send image as e-card

Sonosailor:
You asked about attaching photos from the gallery in e-mails. There are several ways, but I think the easiest way, when you already have the image in the gallery, is to send the image as an e-card straight from the gallery - with the message you like attached to it.
