Re: VERY VERY ANNOYING REQUESTS TO REGISTER

Simple really: use the web browser. Forget about using an app.

Apps were popularised by such as (Cr)Apple to lock you into their ecosystem. Then bill you.

Whether it is CF or an airline the data is web based. Going to the source material works just as well if not, as people in this thread have found, better.

AND I HAVE THE APP - but if I use that, I have to do detective work to find the topic advertised in the email.
1. How do I make the system allow me to follow a link without being blasted by "invitations" to subscribe?
2. How do I reduce the daily emails from two to one without totally de-subscribing?

Additionally, why does the forum prescribe super-fancy passwords when, for the sake of the aforesaid gentleman, it's just a """" chat line!!!??????

You must be doing it all wrong.....When I get the digest in my mail app (Thunderbird, but you could be on Windoze supplied by Micro$oft in which case it is um.....I don't recollect, Office? no matter). When you click on the item it will open a page in your browser. I move the browser to an alternate window (#2) at which time I click on the login box and Last Pass fills in the credentials. (Your not using a login app like Last Pass, stop reading here, your gonna get hacked and this will all be redundant). Once you have been logged on the system automagically routes to the appropriate page. In fact if you click on several subjects each one will be in a unique tab until you close them or in the case of windoze you run out of memory and the whole machine will com crashing down. The lads running this app are not the source of your problems, it works fine.......jus sayin

Ditto for me.

Re: VERY VERY ANNOYING REQUESTS TO REGISTER

I had this same problem a week ago. Even when I logged in, it would toss me back out if I refreshed the page. I had to clear the cookie associated with the site. My guess is that something changed in the way the browser was handling it. So, my advice it to try clearing your cookies, either all or just the CF one. Obviously you'll need to log in one time after that, but since then it has kept me logged in.

Re: VERY VERY ANNOYING REQUESTS TO REGISTER

So what can I learn from the above?
It seems it might be something to do with cookies, or it might be something to do with not logging on to the forum and or to do with not staying logged-on (but if I do log on, I lose the route to the email headline I am trying to follow).
I am using an iPad, and Safari as my web-browser.
The problem continues - so frustrating.
Has anyone else A) found the same problem and B) found a solution?

So much complaining about the forum and the app, all for something that is essentially free!
