Top furler retrieval, Genoa top broke. Help!

After a few months of sailing our newly (read old) acquired S2 , the top furler attachment separated from the top of the Genoa sail.
Though it is still attached to the furler line but 33 ft up the mast.
Never been good at climbing.
How would you guys and gals deal with this the easy/cheap way?

The cheap way is to go up on a boson chair. Not easy, and scary if you've not done it before. Easy way is to have a yard lift one of their guys up with a chair or crane, etc. They all have a way of doing it. Not cheap. It may be possible to run a boat hook, coat hanger, or something else up on another halyard to bring the lost one down, but I've never had any luck with that.
