Can anyone out there help JEdge?

If you'd bother to read the multiple threads on this issue, you'd know that I am not the only one who has experienced this problem.

Re: The Cruisers Daily popup
Log in
Click on User CP
On the left under Settings and Options, click on “Edit Options”.
In the center, scroll pretty far down to “Misc. Options”.
Under “Cruisers Daily Popup Toggle” there is a choice to select “If you're having trouble with the Cruisers Daily Popup showing too often, you can disable it here.” You then select on or off.
On my desktop I get the popup every time I log on but only once. Selecting on or off doesn’t change that but maybe it will help with repetitive popups?

No offense, intended JEdge, but why doesn't it happen to me? If the widget is, as you say, broken, why is it okay with my set up? Why is it not something to do with how others set up their configurations?
I sure hope that sailpower's suggestion works for you.

I don't know what is different between the environments where it works and those where it doesn't. Or what is different between when it is causing me problems and when it is not.
But in software, if it doesn't work in all intended environments, it doesn't work.

Perhaps true, but it is a rare bit of code that can't be found lacking in some set of circumstances or another. Certainly seems to plague some folks at Microsoft!
There are over 100,000 members of CF, dunno how many are active, but when only a few report this issue, it would seem that the program is pretty successful, and that there just could be some individual setting that is upsetting the applecart for some members.
Not to say that a good patch wouldn't be received well!

Re: The Cruisers Daily popup
The cruisers daily popup is sent before the user has a chance to login. For me it usually pops up on top of the login page. If I am really fast with login it pops up after I log in. Either way it's super annoying.
If it uses cookies why not give the popup a feature to select "never show this again" and store a cookie to that effect? Then if the never show cookie is present don't show it. Does not seem that hard.

Re: The Cruisers Daily popup
Basically its an advert promoting subscription.. what I don't get is.. once one has subscribed why does it still keep appearing.. that's what annoys me.
I get the daily feed to my e-mail already..

Re: The Cruisers Daily popup
It keeps appearing because it is launched before it can auto log you in. At least that’s how it appears from this end.
As to how it happens differently for different users there are lots of possibilities. Not everyone has the same speed internet connection. So the argument that only a few people complain doesn’t mean the programming is ok.
I guess a lot of people don’t know to complain. They just grin and bear it.
