Thanks button doesn't work

I just thanked you. First I pushed the thanks button, then I typed a brief message, then I clicked the add to thanks button, nothing seemed to happen and I was slightly annoyed, then I pushed <enter>, then I became more frustrated until I noticed a small pop up at the top of my screen saying something like, "your thanks has been sent." Maybe you can duplicate the process, perhaps avoiding the frustration by looking around at each step. Or maybe you have pop up blocker on? Have fun.

Disabling the pop-up blocker didn't fix it. But I've discovered I only have this problem with Internet Explorer. The "thanks" works fine on Chrome.
Serves me right for sticking with IE
I've got workable solutions, so thanks to everyone who chimed in
