Map on CruisersWiki site

Hi everyone!
I really love the "CruisersWiki" site. Many infos are not updated, but they are a lot and useful.
Lately however i have a problem with the map, you can check it here:

CruisersWiki:Chartlet - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki

I can't see anymore the water depth, the harbours, obstacles, places where to moor etc...
what happened?
does someone have an alternative map? thanks

Re: Map on CruisersWiki site

That chart is not to be trusted, I looked at it in my area and there were causeways and land that was not charted!!
Why not use navionics:

The Cruisers Wiki link it not a "chart", it's a "map"
(See https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/chart_map.html

A nautical chart represents hydrographic data, providing very detailed information on water depths, shoreline, tide predictions, obstructions to navigation such as rocks and shipwrecks, and navigational aids.
The term “map,” on the other hand, emphasizes landforms and encompasses various geographic and cartographic products. Some examples of maps might be road maps or atlases, or city plans. A map usually represents topographical information.)

It uses the community edited OpenStreetMap and the coverage in any area is only as good as the last volunteer's update (the contributor will very rarely be a sailor and will have little interest in or knowledge of relevant marine features ).

The Wiki does however contain a link to OpenSeaMap on the page:
http://www.cruiserswiki.org/wiki/Charts

It's slightly better, but it's still not a marine chart and has many glaring omissions.

Because navionics is the paradigm for proprietary. As long as the maps are not to be used with software like OpenCPN it shall not be used. AND the charts are unreliable and dangereous in some areas.

On the contrary, the freely available Navionics website charts are several orders of magnitude better that the Cruisers Wiki OpenStreetMap.

It is by far the best, most accurate free on-line chart application worldwide and is generally no more "unreliable and dangerous" than any other available charting application.

I've no idea what you mean by "As long as the maps are not to be used with software like OpenCPN it shall not be used.". Maybe it's a language problem, but that sentence makes no sense at all!
