Livebright Ad Banner
Does anyone find the add as annoying as I do. Everytime I load a page that dude's hands start screaming at me. Any chance you can find better ad banners. I find it more offensive than porn....

Download Internet Explorer 7 Pro (free) and enable the Ad Blocker and Flash Blocker and all the junk is gone. The CF owner continues to receive revenue from the advertiser and you don't have to put up with the junk.

And if you are using Firefox web browser add "Addblock Plus". Works like a charm.

I just posted a thread the other day about this ad on Off Topic Forum . I thought I was the only one that found this annoying. I'm grateful for this forum but I can't take much more of those waving hands from that whimpy guy!

There are lots of ways to block ads but I don't necessarily want to block ads on this forum. The forum owners are generating revenue to cover the cost of this forum and I'd like to see them cover their costs and maybe add a bit to their cruising kitty.
However.
I am *really* f'ing tired of that ad. Admins - *please* block that ad. I'm begging ya.

I agree with you, but:
Ad blockers do not cause the ad to not be downloaded. The ad still comes to your PC. It is just stripped out before it is displayed.
I'm not a browser expert, but if the ad does not use cookies, I don't see how there can be any way for the HTML server to know whether the ad was actually displayed. Where my uncertainly comes in, is maybe there is a way a cookie could determine this? Beyond my knowledge.

I've found this clown so annoying that I stopped browsing the site for a while. Now I'm ready for him and I move down so fast I barely see him. Still incredibly annoying though, and I have no idea what he's selling and I don't want to know.

Might depend on the blocker, but in the case of Adblock Plus, it actually doesn't even fetch URLs which match blocked ads...

Yep. I use Windows host file blocking on most of my machines and they won't allow a connection to an adserver.

Will I have to buy a blocker if I have windows XP with explorer? I'm willing to do anything not to see this ad. I know a couple of people have been talking about leaving the forum. Too bad an ad does that.
