Is There An Easy Way To Change Your Username ?

The title says it all -

I wonder why the user cannot change his/her username, other forums allow this.

It can be changed (and IIRC a few have) - it is just a Moderator only function.

I guess the idea is to stop other Members getting confused about who is who by preventing people chopping and changing willy nilly........all part of trying to retain some sense of community (not easy to do online where most come and then go).........especially as some would play games (I know I have on other forums!).

I had my name changed. The problem I ran into though was I had so few posts my IMs to the admins were blocked as suspect spam. I had to WHOIS the domain name and email the technical contact for the domain. They got in touch with one of the admins who IMed me. It was easy once I got in touch with them.

A bit late now, but could have hit the red triangle (bottom left of all posts) to attract the attention of the Mods (it is not just "Panic" Button ).
