I wanted to share a resource, but don't know where to put it.
Hi Guys & Girls,
While surfing, I found a link to Linda and Steve Dashew's books in PDF as a FREE download. The books are: Offshore Cruising Encyclopedia (Second Edition), Mariner’s Weather Handbook, Surviving the Storm, and Practical Seamanship (about 323 MB on my Win 10 laptop).
Being a newbie here, I haven't run across a Forum section that consolidates links to resources or that hosts resources ( except the wiki which I am currently exploring). Everything herein seems to be organized by topic. So I wondered if you would consider a section of stickies dedicated to these kind of links, but more immediately; where should I post these links now? Your guidance is greatly appreciated.

Re: I wanted to share a resource, but don't know where to put it.
Hi CareKnot,
Thanks in advance for enriching the knowledge base around here via the Dashew link.
I just put links directly into my posts via cut & paste. This even includes pic & video addys. Though when you're composing a message there's a small icon above the box in which the text that you type into your message. It looks like a mini image of the Earth, with a small piece of linked chain right underneath of it. And if you hover over it, a box pops up that says "insert link". Which means that if you click on the icon, it'll let you add a hyperlink to your post with it. Or at least that's what happened the last time I used it. Give it a try... or go the cut & paste route, either or.

Re: I wanted to share a resource, but don't know where to put it.
Correction. It appears that before you click on the Hyperlink icon, you first have to go over to the RHS & click on the small box in the upper corner of the post's composing toolbar. It switches the editing mode, allowing you to insert a link to the text of a message, as below. Though you still may need to do some cutting & pasting of text in the body of the message in order to get things positioned correctly.
And when you're doing so, you have 30min in which you can edit your message in case you want to add anything to it, or just plain goof.

Hi UNCIVILIZED
Think we may have gotten our wires crossed. What I meant was - under which HEADING should I post a thread containing this info? For whatever reason, "The Library" seems to be off-limits to me. Never mind. I'll figure it out.

Post it in Seamanship and Boat Handling and send a message to a mod requesting the post be stickied,
. Thanks for the link!

I would have my concerns about copyright infringement

We hope Mariner’s Weather Handbook helps you avoid the need for Surviving the Storm, and that Offshore Cruising Encyclopedia and Practical Seamanship enhance your tools for successful cruising. It's the authors/copyright holders (Dashews) that are giving them away on their own website.

Anyone know why the "Library" forum is grayed-out for me? Is it post count or do I have to make a contribution?

I dunno Stu. Not sure they would appreciate it if I went where I wasn't invited. Thanks for the thought though. That was kind of you.
