How to Reset Forum

My internet crashed and they had to give me a new modem thingy. Now CF doesn't take me to the discussions as before. It was nice using one click to go to the next posting that hadn't been read yet.

I've looked in "user CP" and can't find which setting gives me that again.

Any help?

Re: How to Reset Forum

Try clicking on "new posts" (top near the middle of the page). This will list all the threads that have new posts that you have not read.

You can subscribe to threads you are interested in. Any new posts in these threads will show up in your user CP. A great way to scan a short list of the threads, with new posts, that you are interested in.

CF can be customised. You can get emails sent when someone posts in threads you are subscribed too, or you can subscribe to tags like "watermaker" so you can see when this keyword is used.

Re: How to Reset Forum

I found this in the "user CP" but I don't know what it means. I think it's what I want:

The administrator can also set up the forums so that each thread you read is marked in the database. If this option is set, then new threads (or threads with new posts) will not be marked as read until you have actually read them.

How do I request this?

Re: How to Reset Forum

This is done automatically.

When you click on "new posts" it is automatically customised for you. It actually means new posts, just for you, arranged in descending order from when they are posted.

If you click on a thread if you go back to "new posts" you will see the thread has disappeared from the list. The software assumes you have read the posts so it no longer new.
When a fresh post is made in the thread it will reappear.

The user CP threads work the same way, but will only show threads to which you are subscribed.
Subscribing to threads is a great way to keep track of those threads that you find interesting.
Like new posts only those threads that have new posts since you last viewed them will appear in the list.

Re: How to Reset Forum

I use the Recent Discussions on the right side, which pops me to the latest posts on threads I've read. I also use the New Posts tab, but that doesn't take me to the ends of thread with new posts. I gave up using the email notices, too clumsy and filled my in box, now I do it manually. Good luck.

Re: How to Reset Forum

This should be the right forum to post this. Could someone please let me know if they understand the question I asked in the opening post? Here it is:

I've looked in "user CP" and can't find which setting gives me that again.

Someone said to ask an administrator. Is this the place to do that?
