To post you have to go to a particular forum. Once in a forum you will find a button to start a topic.

The search function that works well is the Google search box in the Search menu.

Welcome to CF .

To post you need to find the appropriate forum as Cal40John suggested.
Click on 'forums' on the top left.
A drop down menu will appear with the most commonly used ones (double click for the full list).
Click on the one you want to post in.
On the top left (same line as the page count) click on 'new thread' to post.

To search click on 'search' at the top right under your name.
I find the easiest thing to do next is to select 'advanced'. This takes you straight to searching for a keyword (by post or title) or username.

Re: How do I maneuver this site?

At the top of the list of threads you posted your inquiry in (Forum Tech Support and Site Help), you'll find three "Sticky" threads that will provide answers to most of the questions new posters find themselves wondering about. The two locked threads, especially, provide excellent guidance.
