But I should check all connections in the voltage + and - cables and connectors.
Length of the lines about 12 m each.
Was that a typo or did I read that as 12 meters?

If 12m is real (I doubt it) it should be doubled ( + &-) for wiring size calculations. I don't think the tables go up that high

I have the same windlas and have to run the generator or increase engine rpms when retrieving the anchor or I get a low voltage alarm on my 750 ah bank.

A dedicated high CCA battery bank close to the windlass would help as would an oversized alternator and only using the windlass with the engine running.
No, I don’t agree. 1000w load will require about 90 Amp. With 2 batteries in parallel it won’t be a problem when the connections are all good. Of course I let my engine running.

Oh, that would indicate, that also you have a problem. May be I will try to connect some additional wire from battery to anchor relais and see what happens.

Re: High voltage drop quick anchor winch Prince DP3

Thanks for all your support. I will hang on an additional AWS 0 ( equals 50 mm2) directly from battery to anchor relais and see what happens. 2 nd trial from relais minus directly to battey minus and watch the result. This will localise the problem.

No never always make sure that the chain is vertical down !

Yes, but you can calculate it easily.

If a vessel has a length of 12 m. And the batteries are behind the engine the length from anchor winch down (1,5 m) and along the side (8 m) to the fuse and down again, further to the boat center ( 3 m) = 12,5 m easily. The length of the cables are adding up very fast.
