I’m not an owner, but I’ll thank you, once again, for your positive contributions over these past 3 or so years.

Should I understand your post to mean that you are unhappy with the advertising content, which has been present since (Dec., 2005) before you joined the CF (Nov., 2006)?
I have my share of problems, but overall, my life is “happy”. Thanks for asking.

Cooper I look at the site this way; free to join, no fees to post or read the content, great advise, great group of members, a site that works very well with some ads that are easy to ignore and a few that I even look at.
I'm very happy.

Cooper,
By the way, to delete your avatar should be simple.
1. Sign on to the forum
2. On the top menu click on "Profile"
3. On the next screen, on the left side under the heading "Control Panel" look down and select the option "Edit Avatar"
4. On the next screen you will see a picture of your avatar with a little circle next to it that is labeled "Do not use an avatar".
5. Click in that circle, scroll down to the option "Save Changes" and click there, job done.

That should do it, Cooper. (Thanks, SkipMac!) Let me know if you have any problems and I'll be glad to help out.

It's what I do too. You can learn not to look. I have not seen an ad in years except from the Kellogs guy waving recently. We had him assimlated some time ago. None of them are worth reading. If you start to read even one they have you and then your family.
If we charged money and didn't have ads the whole place would be different and not in a good way either.

Well, if the Ads are annoying you to that extent just use Firefox and install the AdBlock add in. You will see no more annoying ads on this or any other site.

I know computer "stuff can be frustrating at times. Surely I struggle with it. But there are many ways of expressing thine self. Like me 'Ol Granny us to say..."Why use Lemon when Honey works so well". Or something like that.

Yep, no need to see ads these days I use Maxthon. Its free and gets rid of the lot
Also lets you stop all photos etc which is useful when at sea on a slow net
