440: Electric Winch Breaker Location ?

Anyone know where the electric winch breaker is located?

My e- winch stopped working yesterday and I suspect it may be the breaker/fuse. Only problem is that I don't know where it's located.

On French boats it's typically near the battery switches.

Have a look in the cuboard dorr where the switch for the shore power or genset use is located.
Just inside the sliding door on the side of the electrical cabinet where the glass door is with all the switches

If you are talking of Anchor winch and not the sheet-winches then it is in the locker forward of the cabin under the hinged seat... Cheers

On our Lagoon400 all the breakers of the electric winches & anchor windlass are located on the front of the bed in the aff/port cabin.

Hi maybe 440's are different to 400's etc, ours are in electrical cabinet as per dirkdig and anchor breaker in fwd locker.
Although im finding fuses relays etc everywhere!!!!

On most 440s there are two breakers for the e-winches. One set above galley in upper cabinet, the others in the inside the starboard facing door of the breaker sets just to port of the sliding door

Like Dirkdig, our breakers are in the electrical panel for the winches and outside forward locker under the middle hatch just inside to the right.

Regarding the electric winches. Thought you might be interested in a post I did on the lagoon owners yahoo group! We now an E-Stop for the whole system designed and built to install in the fall!

The big problem from my perspective is that this is a very dangerous situation if a winch goes out of control and it is just me or my wife on deck. You have to let the sheet go free, leave the flybridge, and run to the electrical panel to kill the power to the winch. There are five breakers controlling the winches so we will need to memorize which one goes where so we could do this even in the dark.

I think a better plan is to put in a kill switch near the helm station on the flybridge to kill the power to all the winches instantly. Something you could even push with your foot or toe if your hands are busy controlling the lines on the runaway winch.
